Revive Worship
A New Vision for Modern Worship at FUMCA
Launching September 13

I’ve spent the last two-and-a-half years having an amazing time as the lead pastor of our modern worship service, Celebration, which has been meeting faithfully in the Great Hall for eighteen years. An amazing group of people have gathered and sustained this worship service, with wonderful volunteers, and an awesome team of worship leaders in our band, Center 313. Over my time here there have been a lot of conversations, sharings of dreams and desires, and a lot of praying over the direction God has called this worship encounter to. After months of planning, praising, and praying, we’re excited to announce the new vision for the modern worship community at FUMCA.

As a faith community that’s deeply committed to sharing in Holy Communion every Sunday morning, the open table will be a constant in Revive Worship. In centering ourselves on the direction God is calling us to in Revive, we found three values that hold the community together not just on Sunday morning, but everyday of the week - renewal, reconnecting, and revival.

Renewed - by God’s grace at the Table.

Reconnecting - with God to love our community.

Revival - in worship to live in Christ.

September 13, the official launch of the new experience in Revive will begin with a worship series focused on God’s call for us to reach in and outside of the church, honoring the commission Jesus gave us to share God’s loving message for the world. Invite your friends to come check out the new thing that the Lord is doing in the Great Hall at 11:00 am: the beginning of a new season of praise, worship, and service! Together, we’ll seek a revival, to glorify God, to love our neighbors, to reach our community.

This blog will be an important place for Revive, as we move forward together.  There will be weekly blogs posted here to encourage the community and further keep us together as we move out into the world.  Community building doesn’t just happen on Sunday...God is forming us into better disciples for Jesus everyday! Bookmark or subscribe to this blog so that you don’t miss a thing!

And, of course, join us every Sunday in the Great Hall at FUMCA at 11:00 am!

Blessings to you,
Rev. Jarrod Johnston
Associate Pastor of Communications, Young Adults & Revive Worship
